New NCP Secure Enterprise Client 10.10 Includes Easy Hotspot Logon and Path Finder II Functionality, Offering Secure, One-Click Remote Access Connections from Mobile Devices

Nuremberg, Germany (March 16, 2016) – NCP engineering today announced the availability of its enhanced NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Client, Version 10.10, which enables enterprises to provide employees with secure VPN access to remote networks using an array of devices. The new version includes Easy Hotspot Logon and Path Finder II functionality, ensuring secure and fast connections through public Wi-Fi networks.

NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Client provides VPN functionality, a personal firewall, built-in dialer (Internet connector) with integrated 3G/4G card support and a Wi-Fi administration tool. Delivering one-click access, enterprise users can connect to corporate networks easily, without compromising security. The software automatically facilitates the connection, sets up the VPN tunnel, and selects the transmission network and appropriate firewall policy. IT departments can centrally manage all components of the solution.

New Features

  • Easy Hotspot Logon – new automatisms of the Wi-Fi administration tool eliminates the need to configure endpoint firewall rules. At login, users are presented with available Wi-Fi networks including those that are encrypted. When the user clicks on the hotspot of their choice, the NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Client checks the availability of Internet access. If the response is positive, it automatically establishes a connection. If Internet access is not available, it starts a hardened Web browser. Subsequently, the NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Client establishes an encrypted connection to a VPN server on the Internet, transmitting all online requests through this connection. The data is securely encrypted at the endpoint and transmitted to the VPN server.
  • Path Finder II Technology – automatically recognizes when the authorized VPN gateway is not available via IPsec or NCP Path Finder I (emulating HTTPS), automatically switches to SSL mode, and sets up an end-to-site tunnel to the network.

“Free hotspots and Wi-Fi networks are widely used among enterprises, but they can be easily compromised, making them a nightmare for IT administrators to safeguard their network resources,” said Patrick Oliver, CEO of NCP engineering. “The new NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Client offers enhanced features to ensure fast and easy connections while delivering the utmost in remote access security and management.”
